It has been found that the UK’s biggest cause for long term sickness is back pain. In fact, it was responsible for more than 15 million sick days taken in 2013 alone. Also, roughly 3.4 million individuals, or 15 per cent of the people within the UK, have had to take over a month off from work as a result of their back pain symptoms.

Young workers who are between the ages of 24 and 35 are putting themselves at a great risk for back pain because 70 per cent of them admitted that they lead a sedentary lifestyle. Of the workers between the ages of 18 and 24, 67 per cent claim that they are not active enough either. And once back pain sets in, they are unmotivated to get moving, so the sedentary lifestyle continues.

If you are one of the millions of people who suffer with back pain, it is important to get your condition properly diagnosed by a back professional. Receiving the right treatment and exercise advice could make a big difference in how you feel.
